Peel away dead cells to reveal more youthful skin tissue

An efficient exfoliant, expertly formulated to tackle and rectify a variety of skin conditions.

  • A chemical peel is a treatment that is used to improve the appearance of your skin by exfoliating dead skin cells and stimulating collagen production. As the name suggests, the surface layer of your skin will peel away to reveal fresher, younger skin tissue underneath. This skin treatment will not only provide a rejuvenation, but can also remove skin blemishes and reduce common skin complaints.

  • Lose your frustration with your problem skin by having a chemical peel:

    #Rejuvenating effects

    #Improved skin texture

    #Acne scar reduction

    #Reduces sun damage

    #Appear revitalised and refreshed

*Results may vary and are different for each individual. As such, Skin Life Aesthetic Clinic cannot guarantee specific results.

  • During the procedure, a peel solution will be painted onto your skin. The solution will be tailored to you, as different depths of exfoliation can be stimulated. Age spots, wrinkles, and fine lines can be greatly reduced through this procedure. Following a chemical peel, your skin should appear younger and revitalised.

Although peel solutions will vary according to individual customers, generally you’ll choose from a superficial, medium or deep peel. It’s the strength of the solution that will determine the depth of the skin layer penetrated.

The gentlest peel solutions tend to contain glycolic acid. These will provide a light surface exfoliation to refresh and revitalise your skin. Deeper skin peels might contain mandelic or salicylic acid. When you visit our practitioner for your consultation, you will be advised on the most suitable type of chemical peel for your individual skin.

FAQs

  • The peel solution will be prepared and painted directly onto your skin in the targeted area. You may feel a tingling sensation, but it shouldn’t be painful. After a set amount of time, (which will vary according to the peel solution used) the solution will be washed away and the treated area cleansed. Your practitioner will then advise you on your after-care routine.

  • You should notice the treated skin beginning to feel a bit tighter approximately 4-5 days later. The peeling is likely to start 6 days later. With the old skin removed, the fresh, new, healthy skin will be revealed.

  • You will feel hungry for the first 3-4 days, but as long as you can stick to the diet for that long, you’ll find your body will readjust. The diet products provided will be enough to keep you full and satisfied without the need to snack.

A course of 6 peels should cause a significant improvement to your skin. Your sessions will ideally be only 1 or 2 weeks apart. Following this initial course, you’ll find you’ll need just one peel a month to maintain your new rejuvenated, healthy skin glow.

  • Light chemical peels are suitable for most skin types. Your practitioner will be able to advise you as to whether you’re suitable for a deeper peel. Pregnant women and people with certain medical conditions cannot be considered for chemical peel treatment. Additionally, those with surface skin complaints, such as sunburn, eczema, dermatitis, rosacea, open sores or rashes, will need to wait until their skin has cleared up before undergoing chemical peel treatment.

  • Your Skin Life Aesthetics practitioner will advise you on how to prepare for your specific peel, but it’s likely you will be asked to use certain serums and sunscreens on your skin to prepare it. You will also be asked to refrain from particular hair removal methods and from using skincare products that may form part of your everyday routine.

  • Redness is common, although it should fade within hours. Your skin may also be dry and feel tight afterwards. You shouldn’t experience any pain and with lighter peels no downtime is required.

FAQs

  • PRX-T33 is a facial peeling procedure based on the well-known trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peel. TCA is one of the most popular peeling treatments, as it is a non-toxic chemical which causes the top layer of cells to dry up and peel off the skin.

  • With PRX-T33, a combination of TCA and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) quickly penetrates the dermis (one of the skin’s layers), activating a process of regeneration without attacking the epidermis (the outer layer of skin). The PRX-T33 solution contains 33% TCA and 67% hydrogen peroxide. The peel is incredibly effective. The combination of TCA and hydrogen peroxide stimulates the dermis non-invasively, while minimising the aggressive exfoliation of the dermis.

  • This new method of needle-free bio-rejuvenation has been shown to combat the flaccidity of facial tissue and to act as a bio-rejuvenator of skin, improving its appearance without damaging it

It can be used to remove stretch marks, scars caused by chickenpox and acne and melasma (large blemishes in women which appear before and after pregnancy, and before and after weight gain)

It is also recommended as an additional treatment to laser and radiofrequency treatments to enhance the results

It can be an option as a basic treatment for the retouching of mini-facials and other cosmetic treatments such as dermal fillers and laser treatment

  • It is a non-invasive treatment

It provides non-ablative (not harming the top layer of skin) chemical stimulation of the dermis without exfoliating the epidermis

    It is absolutely painless

It works very well both as a single treatment and in combined treatments, as the results of each are enhanced

It is not photosensitising, so it can be used even in summer

    The results are immediate

After the facial peeling treatment, there is no bruising or redness, so the patient can go back to their everyday life with no sign of cosmetic treatment
