IPL Photo Rejuvanation

With our IPL treatment, you can swiftly and efficiently address skin issues that may be affecting your self-confidence. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment is an excellent solution for managing conditions such as acne, rosacea, thread veins, and pigmentation. This non-invasive approach employs a broad-spectrum light to target problematic cells, while simultaneously promoting collagen and elastin production

IPL (Intense Pulse Light)

  • What makes our IPL treatment in London stand out is our medical-grade IPL machine. It utilises innovative, award-winning technology capable of targeting and treating multiple skin conditions, and some can be dealt with in as little as one session. IPL can help to reduce skin pigmentation and rosacea, improve acne and significantly reduce the appearance of thread veins.

  • Short, safe bursts of light are directed at the skin. This may be visible intense pulsed light or from a laser, depending on the condition you want treated. The system filters the light to ensure the wavelengths used are absorbed by haemoglobin in the blood or melanin from the overactive melanocytes (dark pigment). The light is converted to heat, which destroys the protein in the wall of the vessels and melanin causing it to gradually disappear after treatment. To ensure the best light transmission, a thin layer of gel is applied to your skin before treatment.

  • Remarkable results after a few treatments.

Ellipse has exceptionally high and well-documented long-term hair clearance rates. Photo/skin rejuvenation requires only two treatments, compared to five or more for most alternative systems. Superior results are provided for all vascular and pigmented lesions. And acne clearance is excellent.

FAQs

  • IPL can improve the appearance of sun damaged skin, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, freckles and the signs of ageing.

  • Pregnant women are advised not to undergo IPL treatment and although there are no such medical restrictions on customers with darker skin, you should be aware that due to the way in which IPL is absorbed by melanin, darker skin can suffer from pigmentation issues as a direct result of this treatment. Your Skin Life Aesthetics practitioner will be able to perform a patch test to see how your skin will react.

  • You should find you have a more even skin tone. Blotchiness caused by rosacea or pigment problems should be reduced, as should sun spots and freckles. Fine lines and wrinkles should be smoothed over, helping you to potentially look younger than your years.

  • The number of sessions recommended to you will depend on the severity or depth of the skin complaint you’re addressing. On average, 3-5 treatments are advised.

  • Many customers have likened the sensation of having IPL treatment to having a rubber band snapped against your skin. It’s not exactly comfortable, but it’s not painful either.

  • You will be asked to put on protective eyewear to ensure your eyes don’t get damaged by the bright light. The laser light will then pulse and you’ll feel a twanging sensation. The cooling tip of the device will ensure your skin doesn’t get too warm. The session can last from just a few minutes up to an hour, depending on the size of the target area.
