Microblading

Wake up every morning with perfectly shaped brows. At Skin Life Aesthetic, a laser and aesthetic clinic on Lisson Grove in Marylebone, we create natural-looking, hair-stroke brows tailored to your face — no daily pencilling, no harsh blocks of colour, just brows that look like yours, only better.

We are a short walk from Marylebone and Edgware Road stations, and every microblading treatment starts with a consultation and patch test, so you know exactly what to expect before we begin.

What is microblading

Microblading is a semi-permanent brow treatment. Using a fine hand tool, your practitioner draws individual hair-like strokes onto the skin's surface, filling gaps, correcting asymmetry, and rebuilding thin or over-plucked brows. The result typically lasts up to 12 months, softening gradually over time.

If you prefer a soft, powdered make-up finish rather than individual strokes, we also offer ombré brows — and the two techniques can be combined for the most dimensional result.

Why choose Skin Life Aesthetic in Marylebone

A real clinic, not a home studio. Microblading at Skin Life is performed in a fully equipped aesthetic clinic with medical-grade hygiene standards.

Experienced hands. Your brows are shaped by Ramutė, our founder — a Level 7 qualified aesthetic practitioner with over 15 years of experience.

Consultation first, always. We map your face, agree the shape and colour together, and carry out a patch test at least 48 hours before treatment.

Honest advice. If microblading isn't right for your skin type — for example, very oily skin often holds ombré better — we will tell you and recommend the technique that will actually last.

What to expect

‍ ‍Consultation & patch test — we discuss your brow goals, assess your skin and carry out a patch test at least 48 hours before your appointment.

‍ ‍Mapping & design — on the day, your practitioner measures and pre-draws your new brow shape. Nothing happens until you approve it in the mirror.

‍ ‍The treatment — a numbing cream is applied first. The microblading itself takes around 1.5–2 hours. Most clients describe the sensation as light scratching.

‍ Healing — brows appear darker for the first week, then soften as the skin heals over 4–6 weeks.

‍ ‍Top-up — a perfecting session completes the result.

‍ ‍

Aftercare

Keep the area dry for the first week, avoid make-up on the brows while they heal, skip saunas, swimming and intense workouts for 10–14 days, and use SPF once healed to keep the colour true for longer. You'll leave with full written aftercare instructions.

Frequently asked questions

Does microblading hurt?

Most clients feel only light scratching. We apply a numbing cream before and during the treatment to keep you comfortable.

‍ ‍How long does microblading last?

Typically from 6 to 18 months, depending on your skin type and lifestyle. Oily skin, sun exposure and some skincare ingredients (like retinol used on the brow area) can soften the result faster. An annual refresh keeps brows crisp.

‍ ‍How long is the healing time?

Your brows will look darker and slightly bolder for about a week, then soften. Full healing takes 4–6 weeks, after which we perfect the shape at your top-up appointment.

‍ ‍Am I suitable for microblading?

Most people are. We can't treat you if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and some skin conditions or medications need a doctor's approval first — this is exactly what the consultation and patch test are for.

‍ ‍Microblading or ombré brows — which should I choose?

Microblading gives the most natural, hair-by-hair finish and suits normal to dry skin. Ombré gives a soft, powdered, make-up look and tends to last longer on oily skin. Many clients combine both. We'll advise honestly at your consultation.
