Who it suits

People usually book it for:

  • Brow hairs that grow downwards or in different directions
  • Brows that need gel or pencil to stay in place
  • A fuller, brushed-up look with your own hair

Who it is not suitable for

  • Anyone with irritated, broken or sunburnt skin around the brows
  • Anyone who has reacted to a brow tint or lamination lotion before
  • Anyone under 18
  • If you use retinol, or prescription skincare such as tretinoin, on the brow area, please tell us first
  • If you are pregnant, please tell us before booking

We go through your medical history at your consultation and will tell you if another treatment, or no treatment, is the better choice.

How it works

A lifting lotion softens the brow hairs so they can be brushed into shape. A setting lotion then holds them there, and a tint finishes the look.

Nothing is added to your brows: it is your own hair, set in place.

Brow shaping and tinting, and eyelash tinting, can also be booked on their own.

Your appointment

Patch test

A patch test for the lotions and tint is carried out at least 48 hours before your first appointment.

Treatment

You lie back while your brows are cleansed, set, tinted and tidied. It takes about an hour.

Afterwards

Keep the brows dry and free of make-up for 24 hours.

Side effects and risks

Side effects are uncommon. Some people notice mild redness or itching around the brows for a short time.

Rarely: an allergic reaction to the lotion or tint, which is why a patch test is needed.

Looking after your brows

  • Keep the brows dry for 24 hours.
  • Avoid make-up, steam, saunas and swimming for 24 hours.
  • Brush the brows into place each morning.
  • Keep exfoliating and retinol products off the brows while they are laminated.

Questions

How long does it last?

About six to eight weeks, as your brow hairs grow and are replaced.

Is it the same as microblading?

No. Lamination sets and tints your own hairs, and grows out. Microblading adds hair-like strokes of pigment to the skin and is semi-permanent.

Do I need a patch test?

Yes, at least 48 hours before your first appointment, for the lotions and the tint.

Can I have my lashes done too?

Yes. You can add an eyelash tint, or book a lash lift.
