Who it suits
Mesotherapy is usually chosen for skin that looks dull or dehydrated. People book it for:
- The face, neck and décolletage

Who it is not suitable for
- Anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding
- Anyone under 18
- Anyone with a skin infection or inflammation in the area to be treated
- If you have allergies, an autoimmune condition, or take blood-thinning medicine, please tell us at your consultation
We go through your medical history at your consultation and will tell you if another treatment, or no treatment, is the better choice.
How mesotherapy works
Mesotherapy uses many small, shallow injections to place a solution into the upper layers of the skin. The solution is chosen at your consultation and usually contains hyaluronic acid with vitamins or amino acids.
We use the U225 injector, a device that makes the injections quickly and at a controlled depth.
Your appointment
Consultation
We look at your skin, go through your medical history and explain the likely result, the risks and the alternatives. You can take time to decide.
Treatment
Numbing cream can be applied. The injector is passed across the area, making a series of very small injections.
Afterwards
Tiny marks or bumps usually settle within a day or two. We book your next session.
Who treats you
Injectable treatments at Skin Life are carried out only by appropriately trained and insured practitioners, after a face-to-face consultation.
Side effects and risks
Common and usually short-lived: small marks or bumps, redness, swelling and bruising.
Less common: infection or an allergic reaction. Your practitioner explains these before you agree to treatment. Contact the clinic if anything worries you afterwards.
Looking after your skin
- Avoid make-up for 12 hours.
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and alcohol for 24 hours.
- Avoid sun exposure until any redness has settled.

Does mesotherapy hurt?
The injections are very small and quick. Numbing cream can be applied first.
How many sessions will I need?
It is usually given as a course. We agree a plan at your consultation.
How is it different from Profhilo?
Profhilo is a single product injected at a few set points. Mesotherapy uses many shallow injections of a solution chosen for your skin.
